Eleftherios P. Diamandis, M.D./Ph.D.

Dr. Diamandis is a founding member of the OCBN and serves as the principal investigator for the foundation grant from the Ontario Cancer Research Network.
Dr. Diamandis has over 20 years experience in the discovery and validation
of tumour markers through the application of genomic and proteomic methods
and technologies, and has published over 400 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
Many of the discovered markers relate to ovarian cancers and have been patented
and licensed by diagnostic companies. (e.g. kallikreins).  Dr. Diamandis has clearly established a world-class laboratory with an unsurpassed capability in conducting concurrent and translational research.

His esteemed positions and affiliations include:

• Biochemist-in-Chief of Clinical Biochemistry in the Mount Sinai Hospital,
• the University Health Network and Toronto Medical Laboratories
• Professor and Head, Division of Clinical Biochemistry, Department of Laboratory
• Medicine and Pathbiology, University of Toronto
• Chair of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry Specialty Committee for developing “Guidelines for Use of Tumor Markers at the Clinic.”
• The sole Canadian member of the Early Detection Research Network of the National Cancer Institute of USA.
